Where are you?
Look around for a minute. If you were to take a picture that captures your thoughts and feelings about where you are right now, what would it be? Tricky, isn’t it, but perhaps this will help.

Taking great photographs of places is all about what, when and how.
‘What’ kind of places stir your ideas or emotions – wilderness areas, industrial scenes, places with historical significance? ‘When’ would you want to photograph them – early morning, during the day, at twilight or in the dead of night? ‘How’ do you want to photograph them – deep or shallow focus, wide or telephoto lens, a classic composition or something more unorthodox? Marry these three elements together and your photographs will be elevated into something with meaning.
